Ironworkers

Ironworkers erect the steel that is milled by a steelworker.  They also assemble and erect steel framework and other metal parts in buildings, on bridges, dams and other steel structures.  They continually maintain and service the furnaces, cranes, equipment and steel assemblies for the power and steel industry.

Apprenticeship

Approximate apprentices and journeymen: 1,450; Classroom hours: 840 (3 years); Hours on-the-job training: 5,400(3 years).
